How to Submit a New Method for Recognition
The Open Group publishes a set of criteria for the recognition of Architecture methods, see the Method Recognition Requirements.
To request recognition of a new method, you must use the template document (Microsoft Word format). Send your method recognition application (completed template) via email to the Open Professions Certification Authority (see the bottom of the left hand navigation bar for contact details).
You must submit your method recognition application and receive approval for the method prior to submitting your Experience Profile Milestone Application as you will be required to select the method you've used in your project. Please allow at least a month for your method recognition application to be reviewed. You will be notified when the review is complete. Since a method may be rejected by the Review Board you may wish to wait to hear back prior to filling out your Experience Profile Milestone Application.
What documentation needs to be submitted for getting a method recognized?
The template guides you to provide your assessment of how the method meets each of the published criteria, with sufficient references and/or back up material to support your case when evaluated by an expert in the field of IT Architecture. This assessment should be a summary of the case for recognition of the method and limited to no more than five pages of text.
If the method is publicly available, then references (URLs, publication titles, course references) will usually suffice to backup the assessment.
If the method is proprietary and not publicly accessible, you will need to provide more information.
